People who are used to existing in environments built for the convenience and comfort of humans can't comprehend the paradigm shift that comes with being a part of the environment, not just on top of it.

And you know how people are south things they don't understand.

Yup. Yart cherries! The tree is full of them. I don't know what to do with them all. So far I've made syrup and dehydrated a bunch.

I don't think he got bit. He didn't yelp (and he yelps at thorns). Mostly he seemed confused.

It wants me to sign in to one of my social media accounts through it? I don't feel comfortable with that.

Pictured here, goodest dog, demonstrating what he would have done to that snake if he needed to.

We both ran down the path away from the slithery creature, and continued merrily on our way.

The end.

Suddenly, the snake moved toward me! And just then, Rolo, still standing in place like a goodest boy, valiantly began barking at the fiend, drawing it's attention and allowing me to leap the final few feet out of the way.

There was no way forward but through. Through the brush on the side of the trail. The snake held firm in his position, and I tried my best to creep around it without tangling the leash or myself in the undergrowth.

Rolo, being the goodest boy there is, obeyed my commands to wait and leave it. That left one problem. I was still on the other side of the snake and the two of us were attached with a (thankfully) long leash.

Well, they were both shocked and astounded. Rolo ran up the trail while the snake coiled up. When Rolo turned around to look at this curious thing, we could tell right away that curious was not the emotion that the snake was feeling.

Rolo and I were walking along a woodland path, easy as can be, when a snake suddenly tangled itself in Rolo's legs! Now I'm sure the snake would argue that it was just sitting on the path and Rolo stepped on it, but that's just a matter of opinion.
