Jersey girl. Amateur linguist. Student of history. Sci-curious. Reader of books. Former theatre kid. Insufferable pedant. Mediocre karaoke singer. Radio belter. Order Muppet. Mom. Fanilton. 3rd-gen Girl Scout Leader. Still marching. (She/Her)
I might be able to listen to instrumental music, but only if my brain isn't Teflon that day.

UPDATE: I did the thing & hashed it so folks who were watching the Burns docuseries using it could find it fast:

I forgot to tag this 3-post thread for all y'all, so here you go #HATM

(I screenshotted everything on Threads & copied/pasted the text into an enumerated Notes file so I could fill in alt-text; hope it clarifies stuff if you were still wondering!)

There are places that have a vibe.

Can't explain it, but it's the thing that makes the hairs on the back of your neck prickle & an overwhelming sense of *presence*

Older homes, battlefields, cemeteries, sacred spaces (not necessarily houses of worship), and the woods all have *something*.

Evergreen sentiment.

They were still giving out razors (disposable, tho) into the '90s — my dad's cousin was a flight attendant for American then & she gave me a "courtesy" toiletry kit before I flew to England on a school trip in '95.

He's forever Larry "Lawrence" Kubiak to me, but I did get mad at my mom for not recognizing him when he played Jerry (and also one of the henchmen in George of the Jungle.)

He's one of my favorite character actors!

Huh?

I spent most sporting events we took G to walking outside the seating areas, so I have literally ZERO memory of this.

C'mon, wearing Rangers sweaters while G wore her Yotes sweater at the Yotes' arena wasn't that bad.

It's not like they're Philly, y'know?

I deleted the app from my phone & have had no desire to post there for a while now.

Then again, my acc't wasn't public so all I really lost were a few friends interactions and some of the stupid-posting my spouse & I did at each other. (Which we still do 'round here.)

There were a lot of good times on 2015-'16 Twitter.

But, like, once you let one Nazi into your bar, it's a Nazi bar. (My acc't is still open bc I kept hearing about bots appropriating acc'ts after deactivation/delete, but I don't use it.)

LMM mentioned von Steuben's queerness as part of the research for "Valley Forge" (which was cut & sorta cannibalized into "Stay Alive" though there is video of the song in its 1st/only performance) but I can't remember if it's in the HamilTome, HamilDoc, or *sigh* 2015-'16 Twitter.

🤭🤭🤭

I wanted to send G the short vid from a Trinity Church EduHam featuring LMM in conversation with Ken Burns, but it's only on FB, Insta, and Lin's Dad's Threads. (Luis Miranda's social media cracks me up; he's so OTT supportive.)

People on the HATM livewatch stream were trying so hard to ID the voicework, and that was more than enough to recognize just how ELITE voicing a Ken Burns docuseries has become since 1990.
November 22, 2025 at 4:51 PM
I was doing the livechat with HATM on a different link, so I didn't catch as many voices the first time; I'm rewatching OnDemand bc even half-tuned-out, it was pretty impressive.

OFC, I am biased — I grew up in the NYC suburbs, have a parent who was in banking starting in the '70s through the early '00s, and watched myself *almost* fall for the fiction (thanks to The Apprentice next-day recaps on WXRQ's morning drive radio show.)

Mark Burnett (et al) has a lot to answer for
November 22, 2025 at 2:16 PM
PS — Oscar describes The Donald as a "television character" on The Apprentice and, y'all, that is not inaccurate.

The Mark Burnett company's edits created the character folks who voted for him all 3 times believed he was/is and that's important.
