I found out last week that Minsky was an associate of Epstein.

Life interfered with my getting far into reading this book. Do I read it now as a glimpse into a mind like that? Or do I shelve it? Hm.

Which part?

Yeah there have been other CVEs in those releases (not for Shortcuts) that I found more concerning.

That said, not everyone likes messing about with finnicky UIs and implementations, so untrusted shortcuts can be a real issue.

**iOS 18.1**
(CVE-2024-44254): An app may be able to access sensitive user data
(CVE-2024-44269) A malicious app may use shortcuts to access restricted files

**iOS 17.6**
(CVE-2024-40835,CVE-2024-40836) A shortcut may be able to use sensitive data with certain actions without prompting the user

I see one from 18.4 after a quick search:
"Impact: A shortcut may be able to access files that are normally inaccessible to the Shortcuts app"

18.5 doesn't seem to shortcuts-related fixes. However, reading through the security content of many of these iOS releases makes my skin crawl.

I love your demeanor! Particularly the understated facial expressions.

They are constantly finding vulnerabilities in Shortcuts. Love the idea, but it doesn't feel worth it.

Have to add: If you are wondering about the location confusion, I am in SF but family is in the philly area
July 14, 2025 at 3:13 AM
As a resident of SF I have to admit that I am curious to hear more, if you do end up posting.

I have to engage my skeptic side quite a bit when dealing with any business here.

If you ever return, I'll *probably* still be in the area

Keep trying to decide how to reply but I can't quite. "Like" it is!

Ah this showed up after I replied! Agree 💯

At my former employer, it was politics. Should be better now that they've laid off droves their engineers, that's how it works, right? 🙃

Do you use block lists? I am extremely wary of them because of the potential for misuse, instead opting to block people as I encounter them.
