She looks like a snowshoe! We have one, too. She, too, has had food issues all her life (as well as digestive issues) and has developed very Particularly & Queenly Standards of Variety for her meals.

Ireland (2013-2025) made her art while standing at a toilet paper dispenser, her favorite location. Most of her works feature a cascade of shredded paper hanging from the wall plus small pieces strewn on the floor, representing unity and individuality, made from one medium, toilet paper.

This is Ireland, who departed in 6/25. She loved sitting on the toilet lid. The toilet paper holder is empty because she was a very talented TP sculptor. (I still can't bear to take away the remnants of her last, experimental work & use the holder as intended...) We miss her so much!

Here's a replacement photo of Edwina. No book but another look at that nose!

Here's Edwina reading Lear. The angle's not very good since she's on my lap but there she is, all settled in!

Did you just adopt Toolbox!? She looks very, very sweet!

This is how Edwina hid a fair bit in her first days with us. She and her sister mostly came out of their hiding places to eat for some days.

I've only ever used a plastic cone, on Edwina after stomach surgery. Two weeks with it! Sometimes she rammed it into me during the night. (I slept on the floor in her isolation room, to keep her company.) And I woke up a few times to see her sitting on the floor next to the cone, staring at me.

Thank you, @petipaw.bsky.social, they are definitely family. We have lots of wonderful memories of Ireland and this photo (from some years ago) is a favorite: it really captures her essence! Edwina is still feeling stressed but she's doing okay, thank you, settled in behind my monitor for a nap. ❤️

Edwina wants Gonzo to know she is very hard at work helping me edit a translation after a stressful day of having our garage door fixed so we no longer need to use a farm jack to open it.

Yard work has been called off for now because a large, fluffy, and very comfortable fox is taking a nap in a pile of wood chips. Apologies for the blurry photo!

My office mate Edwina is shirking her editorial duties again, but she's thoroughly enjoying a blanket and warm sun in my nap room.

Edwina thoroughly enjoyed watching this!

Thank you! Looks Edwina and I are both ready for another week of Shakespeare!

It's finally here! (I saw it in Informed Delivery last night so set aside the dusty old tome, figuring it would be better to more per day from a book that's far less dusty.) Looking forward to joining you tonight!

So here it is, pages riffled out on the veranda to air out some of the dust! I shall commence reading Much Ado this evening.

Here's Edwina sending her personal greetings now that she's settled in behind my monitor!

It looks like you're bringing our cat Edwina with you! I'm sorry neither of us will see you in Boston.
November 17, 2024 at 5:34 PM
Apparently our cat Ireland also doesn't think the election results bode well

Ours work in a distinctly different style.

And thanks to all here who've mentioned hanging the toilet paper the other/wrong way. Sad to say, it never occurred to us to try that. 🤷‍♀️

Edwina and Ireland, who also love boxes, welcome Mousecow.

Vera does look very helpful. I often discuss choices with Edwina. Here she is scrutinizing dictionary entries.

Feeling the need to celebrate one of our most helpful yard gadgets: the rock sled my husband made. It gets lots of use in our (suburban) back yard.
June 27, 2024 at 6:03 PM
Here you go! Ireland and Cricket have something in common.
June 24, 2024 at 1:47 PM
That's so sweet! Edwina says someone's outdone her on the nose thing. 😊
