#ActuallyAutistic educator, writer, bibliophile who already loves your dog(s). Opinions are mine. Out now, my book <The Present Professor>! https://www.oupress.com/9780806194691/the-present-professor/
When I first met my (sports fan) partner, Coach K was still coaching at Duke and he was famous for drilling his players on fundamentals. So when I see hoops players missing free throws, we just yell, "FUNDAMENTALS!!" loudly. And by we, I mean me, alone.

Came here to ask this. And btw, as others have mentioned, Hot Dudes Reading is a fabulous IG follow.

I just want to know why all of the people visibly reading in ALL of these pictures appear to be men?? Are we suggesting that men don't read and therefore when they're reading in public, they must be performing in some way?

** And I say this as a graduate from one of those 3.D graduates (UT Dallas) who did manage to secure a tenure-track job at a community college and ultimately worked her way into a teaching center/staff role at an R1. But I am **definitely** an anomaly.

I really wish I could make it to that Towles event. My favorite year was when they brought John Irving and someone in the audience asked what his version of Owen Meany's voice was. He scoffed at the implication there was any other than his, then laid it on us. Completely brilliant. 🥰

Ok, actually, I misspoke. I love Love LOVE DST. I loathe standard time, which is where we are now. My partner is rather pedantic about this, so accuracy matters. 🤓

I saw this post first and was trying to figure out what PCs referred to. Then I went to the start of the thread and realized you literally mean machines and oooof we live in an often-rotten timeline.
