I have missed having a dog at my feet. This is Hachi. He is 10 weeks old and extraordinarily chill. I expect that will change as he gets more comfortable here, but we are stupidly in love.

Today is my first work morning without my dog. No one is sneaking over to try to lick my coffee when I’m not looking and it’s the worst fucking feeling in the world.

If it helps to know, this asshole (love if my life) has pretty poorly controlled seizures despite massive doses of 2 meds, but he also has really high quality of life the rest of the time. He’s super healthy! (Except for 2 minutes every 14-21 days.)

Because Bismarck has lost all his manners this summer and we are doubling down on basic obedience to make him sit and stay and heel at random moments throughout the day, I have to reward him with “good boy, good dog” a lot but I always follow it up with “not really though” in my normal tone.
