If you've considered getting a paid subscription to our newsletter, now would be a really helpful time. On my end, seasonal service work has ended and there is no new work to be found. Our next piece is about 2.5 weeks away. Our last piece was our most read yet. buttondown.com/TYFYFL/archi...

Posting again, because I think this has an audience beyond my reach. @fractalecho.bsky.social and I published a piece detailing Microsoft's inaccurate 'Inclusive Design' story and what it says more broadly about who 'Inclusive Design' omits from the record. buttondown.com/TYFYFL/archi...

Our latest for Thank You for your Feedback Loop. A story and an idea. I'm hoping @fractalecho.bsky.social can better explain. buttondown.com/TYFYFL/archi...

of course this is how it would get reported by an industry mouthpiece - one of the complaints came from "the head of NFL Players Inc., the licensing arm of the union." I sincerely hope she's doing ok, and look forward to @pablo.show correcting the record.

"Even though the “first Disability Pride Day” was intentionally pegged as the “next step in the disability rights movement,” Disability Pride Month [...] conscripts the organizers of Disability Pride Day into embracing something they were, in fact, resisting." buttondown.com/TYFYFL/archi...

Bartended the Dave Matthews concert in Richmond last night. My friend Kate had really good tickets and snagged this pic. Quite a statement to his sold out elder millennial (myself included) crowd.

My guess: AI for Good may be Microsoft’s replacement for its Inclusive Design programming and powers that be will circumvent the World Bank Disability Divide Database collaboration through this ‘lab’

It's #DisabilityPrideMonth. @fractalecho.bsky.social considered dissecting the arbitrary color assignments of the Disability Pride Flag and what they 'represent', because social media defaults to this, but it wasn't compelling. So we unraveled the flag instead. buttondown.com/TYFYFL/archi...

In their conclusion, Jesse expressed the exact frustration I was feeling. This is why our work needs to be platformed. Who knows how many others out there are experiencing the same thing with this particular antagonist.
June 21, 2025 at 1:41 PM
Similarly, we use a Freire quote to describe what Jesse says about Hendren imparting her own beliefs as she purports to make disability legible to the masses. I would have loved to build on Jesse's work instead of replicating it, but this is what happens when our work is made unsearchable.
June 21, 2025 at 1:32 PM
Ultimately our critiques of Hendren were very similar; just as we wrote of mothers of disabled children being used to govern our beliefs, Jesse described her as a 'quintessential disability mom” that has sought entrée to disabled space for her writing.'
