Today I attended a workshop on using AI tools without sacrificing your voice and your values.

It made me think and provided some useful tips. It also ended on a reassuring note - AI is always looking backwards as it's modelled on data that already exists.

Human thinking is very much still needed!

Passing through the Biblioteca de México, I found a birdsong installation.

The beautiful passageway is now full of plants and a soundscape installation! Wooden nests hold speakers playing the call of native birds. The idea is that you listen, enjoy a moment of calm, and read about different birds.

Recently 3 fashion brands were called out for using artisanal designs without credit:

Prada – Kolhapuri sandals, India
Adidas – huarache shoes, Mexico
Dior – mukaish embroidery, India

People are speaking up online for artisan recognition. Could this signal higher expectations for transparency?

I went to see Residente play a free concert in CDMX in one of the largest plazas in the 🌎. During the show he invited a Palestinian family on stage. The atmosphere was incredible as 180,000 chanted 'Palestina libre' in solidarity. It gave me goosebumps. See it here: www.instagram.com/reel/DOUD4fO...

Feeling helpless about Palestine? Here's one small thing you can do 🍉

Business Leaders for Peace is asking people to sign an open letter to the UK government to act and end the atrocities in Gaza.

I didn't hesitate. You can sign here: businessleadersforpeace.com and share with colleagues/on social

Wonderful multi-sensory experience at the Centro Cultural de España on Wednesday. Musicians a improvising on the theme of water, a mezcal tasting and explanations alongside traditional Mexican snacks. A very creative and immersive evening.

Today I went to my local specialty coffee shop and learned all about thermal shock processing.

I love learning more about coffee and getting to know baristas and taking on their recommendations.

The perfect break from work!

Book club: The Devil’s Highway is a true story of 26 men crossing the US–Mexico desert in 2001.

It resonated because of current politics & that low coffee prices/poor sugarcane wages pushed some to migrate-issues that exist 24 years later.

It was good to discuss climate & who gets to move safely.

“The best thing we can do among all the chaos is put our hands in the earth and connect with mother nature.”

Lovely quote I just heard at the Global Women's Assembly for Climate Justice hosted by @wecan-intl.bsky.social.
