The crypto aspect shouldn’t be underrated. The entire A16Z brain trust is 110% all-in on bitcoin and ethereum (very likely to the tune of a substantial portion of their personal net worths), and the combo of the 2022 crash and the subsequent regulatory crackdown absolutely broke a lot of them.
