You Will Die In This Place
Very surreal to see my rough guide sketches come to life.

It occurred to me that the Abyssal Labyrinth might actually be a pretty nice place if you ignore what the Royal Orthodoxy of Ashendeep has to say about it. @eerieseymour.bsky.social gave me the idea to make some postcards. I still need to do 'We all have to die somewhere. Why not here?'

Best day in a while.

It's very early days, but I wanted to share this awesome commission that @redregenmann.bsky.social has done for the anime mecha ttrpg that I'm starting development on.

Did a very rough sketch of a design for the mecha game I've quietly been working on. I'm commissioning art for the final thing, but it's nice to rough out some ideas.

Got some film scans back from my trip to Castle Rising. I really enjoy the tonality and texture of Ilford HP5.

Some pictures of my Blight Seas Fleet diorama/display board.

Printing and boxing up some sets of miniatures from Blight Seas Fleet for my table at Norwich Games Con on Saturday.

The Abyssal Labyrinth of You Will Die In This Place was partly inspired by whale fall, albeit on a more cosmic scale.

Quite pleasant here, despite the heat.

Cosplaying as my Delta Green character for the game today. It's nice to not have to go straight from work for a change.

When you're writing, sometimes you just can't resist indulging in little jokes and references that make you happy.

Just threw together a newspaper front page for a Call of Cthulhu campaign that I'm planning. After doing it for Vampire, this became one of my favourite ways to diegetically introduce characters, set up plot hooks, and provide epilogues to player actions.

Currently daydreaming about hex crawls and Battletech while engaging in the weekly ritual of tolerating my parents' false reality. I know it isn't healthy, you don't have to tell me.

Went digging around in my folders of unfinished game ideas and found this. I'm not sure if it has aged well or terribly.

I remember that the true goal was to overthrow President President and that it ended with a boss battle where his palace grew arms and legs and turned into a giant mecha.

I'll be at Norwich Games Con on the 23rd of August if anyone planning to visit wants to drop by to say hi. I also got table 13. Objectively the best table number.

I was looking for old photographs that I might have emailed home of my apartment in Goscote House, prior to its demolition. No luck, unfortunately. I did, however, find this email from the late 2000s.

So, I wrote a novel for NaNoWriMo last year, and it's been languishing in editing hell ever since - mostly because I lack the motivation to grind through and do it. Anyone feel like giving the draft a read? Might give me the push I need to actually finish editing. It is bleak fantasy.

Stealthily teaching children some world building with a bit of science.

Watched Flash Gordon and Barbarella yesterday with @eerieseymour.bsky.social (first time I had seen the latter).

"So, is this guy like Grade 9 in BDSM piano?"

Wasn't expecting that sentence to come out of my mouth.

It's like that hit game Dungeons & Dragons*, except the dungeon doesn't need dragons to hurt you.

*Disclaimer: may, in fact, be nothing like it.
