learning that Oprah's real name is Orpah is one of those wedge factoids that will permanently destroy your ability to speak normally about her ever again. it alters your brain chemistry. "Do you mean Orpah?" you'll say, every time. if you're reading this it's already too late

Reminder that anti-vax sentiments are pure ableism. Obviously vaccines don’t cause children to become autistic. But *they* believe that’s the case - and they would literally rather have a dead child than an autistic one.

It’s wild how often businesses admit to exploiting labor to make money.

The NCAA and the Power Five conferences spent $2,970,000 last year lobbying against paying athletes, which could have been used to pay athletes.

Where I'm at with trans care btw
Anyway my moderate abortion compromise is that all abortions are legal—with no restrictions on reason or gestational time and no veto power for the parents of minor patients—and that the state provides them locally, on demand, for free.

I do not remember the anti-choice rhetoric from twd s2. If ANY time is the right time for an abortion, it’s mid-zombie apocalypse!!!!!!

Ugh overhearing two coworkers talk about the (young) age of the repairmen the city sent… do they think fully grown workers just respawn to do work?? Did they not work in their 20s?? It’s almost as if the only people who can afford to accept such low pay are those new to the workforce 👀

In 2024, I want to become a more positive person. But not through changing how I react to setbacks or through increased resilience moving on from disappointment. I want to do it through a bunch of good things, and no bad things, happening to me.

went to check the goodreads of bombshell (a book i loved) and all the reviews are 1-2 stars!! citing too much feminism as the issue. first off, sexism and women’s discontent with it have existed long before our words/definitions. 2nd, this implies rom readers all read era romance FOR the sexism????
