in the previous one i colored on the flats directly, but here i separated everything. the result is cleaner but it's less fun to do process-wise. there is a happy medium somewhere... i am still trying to figure out the best way to go about rendering delicate plane changes w/o it looking too diluted.

For anyone wondering how this screenshot was made, it's a "photo mode" mod I made that lets you pause the game and freely move the camera, along with letting you pose objects and tweak visual settings. (although i did some extra hacking to get Spyro into Sgt. Byrd's level)
