everywhere. But anyway no right or wrong way to look at it. I guess we just reacted differently to it.

I think there’s something to the farmers automatically assuming he killed the blind man too. Like to men he was treated poorly by the men bc they didn’t understand him. The men were shown as being at odds and cruel to nature too. Anyway I like how symbolic this movie is. You can draw meaning +

Fair enough I don’t think GDT was villainizing wolves per se. Just showing brutal nature in the vehicle of a gothic fairytale. But to each our own for sure

I guess that it just wouldn’t really have the narrative drive that losing his dear friend would have if that makes sense. It’s brutal for a reason imo. To drive the creature to this rage needed something heavier. But yeah it’s definitely hard to watch. I think men are portrayed as villains too

And the creature learned that he didn’t have to choose this cruelty. He chose to live and help in the end.

I think the wolves are just an archetype in this movie though. The line that says “the farmer didn’t hate the wolves, and the wolves didn’t hate the farmer yet violence was inevitable between them.” Very symbolic of how cruel the world is. The creature was learning how nature worked imo.
