Yes, that’s my interpretation as well. Also, keep in mind that Google had essentially no competition for the last 25 years. Now that they have competition (ChatGPT, Claude and more) they are doing their best to compete. It’s not their preferred scenario (see Thiel, Zero to One) but they have to.
