But then again, Columbine. But then again, Sandy Hook. But then again, Marjory Stoneman Douglas.

Perhaps The Golden Rule attaches here too. Some will want to say “treat others how you want to be treated.” But based on the way we treat our kids in America, perhaps we already are.

“But, Hamas…”

Stop. At a certain point, you being okay with kids getting murdered doesn’t have shit to do with Hamas. Being able to find a justification for killing innocent children under any circumstances is a reflection on you, full stop. Own your bullshit.

Now here's an encouraging thing: the practice of saying no to social pressure when it is dangerous and maladaptive, is the skill we most need right now, one which will carry over into other discussions, choices, and battles that are on their way or already in progress. Try it and it will get easier.

Over the next couple weeks, billions of people are going to travel and there will be a huge but largely silent spike - silent only because folks are not talking about it, not because you won't be able to hear those dry coughs on the plane or train you take to visit loved ones. Don't get got.

If you have stopped masking entirely, start carrying one and pop it on when you're going to be surrounded by strangers. A train, a plane, a grocery store, a concert- why would you want to raw dog that air anyway? The fact that I went on the MTA daily without a mask BEFORE covid is wild to me now.

Ignoring the fact that more people you know are more sick, more often is just goofy. There's no such thing as the summer flu. People don't be getting allergies every season like that. That cough that doesn't go away for a month is not normal. That powerful fatigue is not just the state of the world.

Pushing back on covid denialism is anti-capitalist work, as the push to live life as if it were 2019 or prior only serves capital interests. If you are a person who spends their life fighting for other people, you should already be used to standing out for your beliefs. You got this😷

At this point, though, the messaging battle around masking and continued precautions has been lost. People look at you strangely and in some areas even get violent or angry with you for wearing a mask, thus reminding them that the elephant is still in the room and this boogeyman is, in fact, real

Darlings, this novel, wildly mutated virus is just now 5 years old. By all accounts it behaves more similarly to HIV than the common cold or the flu. It's not a respiratory illness, it's a vascular illness - that means it can affect literally every system of your body. Each infection increases risk.

i love that you read through and it shifted your opinion a little!

honestly, i'm always 🤔🤷 about the color choice because like you said, there are SO many to choose from. but there's beauty to every shade, and they're all open to interpretation.

I have been thinking about the Pantone color of the year and how freaking awesome it is.

It's a very rich, warm brown. It's already trendy among fashion trendsetters, and it looks great on so many people that apparel is going to be very lush for awhile. I'm extremely excited about this because...
