The line is supposed to be delivered like they were doing some sort of quiz game show. "Too bad! He's not my boyfriend. The correct answer is Nukkun!" The extra implications of the line (it's too bad he's not my boyfriend) are completely lost. It's not cute, or flirty, or fun at all.

Image 1 here, the orinal Japanese is more like "girl power", the implication being that high school girls are better looking and more feminine than middle schoolers. And image 2? This is so bad I literally emailed Seven Seas about it when I saw it in the ebook a month ago...

Neat. Someone went to the spot from Makeine novel 6 for the hand holding scene. Neat to be able to visualize exactly why Nukumizu was like "Yeah, fuck that, I'm good. I'm not going out on those rocks." Also happens to be the scene my fanfic I'm writing starts at. #makeine #anime

Yeah novel 6 has Koto on the cover, but is secretly a Lemon story. Sneaky. I was confused when I saw the cover, can't imagine Koto losing. I guess they had to pick another girl since Lemon was already the cover of novel 2.

There is nothing stopping her from just taking him. He wouldn't turn her down when asked out post novel 6, and the other girls are too passive to interfere. Hard to imagine Lemon losing if she just persists.

These four pages might be the most criminal omission from the Makeine anime. Fortunately, it gets cleared up and doesn't get referenced further. I feel like these sort of cut scenes are why we got the hyper Yanami shipping fuel in episode 12 to get the anime up to the books' level. #anime #makeine
