64%: This man’s brilliant conclusion is that *he* can’t love *her* because he is ~~incapable of love~~, but *she* can just love *him* instead and that will definitely work around the no-male-babies curse. 🙄🙄🙄

Hey, there’s a magical pin and a curse!

“From that day forth Glendruid women conceived few babes, for there was little of pleasure in their lives; and without pleasure, no Glendruid female will quicken with a man’s seed.”

Bet: Meg finds the magic wolf pin and has the first male Glendruid baby.

King Henry wants Dominic to marry Meg and take over the keep.

Sir John (Meg’s dad) wants her to refuse to marry so her illegitimate step brother can marry her and take over the keep.

Meg just wants to avoid war so all the people who live in the keep are safe and get more to eat.

lol indeed, page 1:
“There will be no war,” Met said firmly. “That is why I will wed — to end the bloodletting.”

Meg is a from a family of Celtic mystics in Scotland. Dominic le Sabre (v. chill name 😅) is a Norman knight returning from the Crusades.

It’s “spring in the reign of King Henry I”, so early 1100s.

Clearly we are about to read about a Strategic Alliance that becomes True Love. Here we go!

I’m convinced every consumer level use-case where LLMs are actually kind of ok is something that could have been done for a fraction of the computing power and cost, without having to have fed it every copywritten object in history. Like, the “next iteration of transcription and search”-type shit.

Went on a work trip; back now so let’s finish this.

We are 83% through the book and have just (?) learned the giant emerald they are trying to find is cursed.

“She grasped her stork scissors, which were tied to the end of it, and with her gaze never losing hold of his, she opened the tiny embroidery scissors and cut the banana in two.” (3/3)

“When she looked at him again, he was entranced.
A soft, beckoning smile curved her lips, and her hand reached down to a satin ribbon tied to her dress. (2/3)

“She picked up the banana. Slowly, as if she hadn’t eaten in days, she peeled back the skin, savoring every rip. Her eyes darted to him and she was pleased by his obvious anticipation. He couldn’t know that hers surpassed it. She nervously licked her lips, unaware of how this made her appear. (1/3)
