The list includes works by notable scholars such as Adorno, Diamond, Lacan, Merleau-Ponty, Nietzsche, Sartre, and Žižek. Among these distinguished references is Westermann, C. (2006). 'Who plays the nightingale?' published in a collection edited by R. Ascott titled 'Engineering nature. Art and consciousness in the post-biological era' (pp. 189-193) by Intellect Ltd. The references span psychoanalytic theory, philosophy, and cultural studies from various decades.
