Fair enough, but as a reader I felt like I had been dropped into the middle of a story, which left me distracted rather than engaged.

I find it confusing. She has superpowers, magically removes vodka from her White Russian but can then taste it on his lips? And... they're... eating? The vampire in me is kinda grossed out.

Also, as a literary device, the telepathy doesn't work for me. It works against the intimacy.

The above reminds me that a major feature of the western Dark Ages was mass ignorance & the absence of critical thought.

The blu-ray commentary track has, I think, a de Sade expert and lesbian vampire films expert. A lot of attention to the clothes worn, which is fair.

Certainly interesting, though, good insights, and it's nice that I'm not alone in loving this film.
