France. Better to drag it out and hope they get deported first. The only way I see it working is to have an agreement with the French to build a migrant facility in France operated by us to process people. Although this is really no different to the army barracks idea here but out of sight.

While you don't have to claim asylum in the first safe country, its not a right to wander and shop for asylum. You have to make what you intend to be a single journey to where you intend to claim. If anything there is far less motivation for a UK government to process claims quickly for people in

What does that look like though? If it's 2 weeks what does a migrant in Paris do for a fortnight? Without claiming asylum in France they've no right to be there at all.

I mostly agree... one thing needs factoring in is the amount of time a claim takes. It someone was able to apply at the British embassy in, say, Paris, what do they do for the year or so it seems to take us to process it? At that point being in France and NOT claiming French asylum makes them an

NI was pretty damn close. I guess we'll see if they keep them intact after the budget. I do sympathise with them on media coverage. It doesn't matter what they do they get criticised but they have also been disappointing.

While I agree to a point on the greens, labours trouble right now is that they're offering no solutions to any problems and breaking their promises. They need to set out a compelling vision of what they are for. What they want to do.

The tories would have promised not to and PM Sunak next month may well have been adding 2p to income tax to directly fund Rwanda.

We've had reform renege in their tax cuts when they're not in power and are highly unlikely to be for at least 4 years.
