Poor image quality due to direction of sun and dirty landing window (sorry). In photo: you can see my neighbor’s backyard beyond my garage and wooden fence, where there’s a fire in front of his shed on the ground. Firefighter is there with his hose putting out the fire. Smoke is billowing up from the fire with wind blowing it directly toward my fence. Wind speed is 18 mph today.

A few years ago at Halloween, I made this for a pumpkin carving contest at work. I got beat out by another location because the voting was via Facebook likes and that location had 5x the amount of employees that mine did. Regardless, I was proud of my creation.
A pumpkin, made to look like the head of Oscar the grouch sitting in a small trash bin wearing the lid as a hat and surrounded by garbage (old chip bags, soda cans, crumpled papers, etc)

I really love this mug and I’m glad I bought it. I’m also happy with the pumpkin spice flavored syrup I got for my coffee.
Mug is blue with a top that’s supposed to mimic a spillover of a foamy liquid. It has a round, tan stamp-like spot on the side that has the outline of a bison with the bison’s body being a canvas for a beautiful etching of the mountains and trees. Written below the bison is, “LOVE + PROTECT your parks”

Sunset from Estes Park, last Saturday, as we were getting gas to start the journey home.
The Rocky Mountains, with cloudy sunset sky above. The blue clouds are painted pink, orange, purple, and yellow by the setting sun and are wispy with drizzle. Toward the left of the frame is a photobombing pine tree.

Saw these ducks at Sprague lake in RMNP on Saturday. I think they’re mallard hybrids but I’m a novice at birding. There was a guy there w/more exp than me and he didn’t know what they are for sure, either. Anyone have any ideas? 🪶

I’m at the Stanley hotel. No ghost sightings yet but I’ve been checking the hallways and I’ll keep everyone posted.
Hallway. Carpet is deep red with gold pattern. The hall widens in the foreground and there are two (probably antique) couches on either side. The hallway ends at a glass door that leads to the wooden(!) fire escape Staircase from 4th floor looking down. Wooden banister with white carved spindles. Same deep red carpet with gold pattern. Main staircase from halfway up on the side. There are ornately framed pictures and mirrors on the wall which has a bluish patterned wallpaper. See othe photo for description of staircase Interesting framed picture closer up. Idk who this guy is, but he looks like the captain of the titanic.

Chilling with a drink in the outdoor space behind the restaurant/gift shop. There’s music and a cool breeze. This is nice. And about as Texas as Texas can get lol
The row of rooms are staged like an old western town where all the buildings are painted brightly and connected to each other. The famous “Big Texan” sign (a cowboy holding a red sign w/ white lettering that says “Big Texan”) stands tall to the right. The pool is in the shape of Texas. The concrete surrounding it is colored up like the state flag; red, white, and blue with a great big white star. I took this shot from halfway up the stairs to our block of rooms. The outdoor space I’m chilling in right now. Photo shows round wooden table with a strawberry something alcoholic drink and my cup of water (gotta hydrate). There’s a roof over us with party lights and other tables in the background.

Mississippi kites moved in to the tree across the way. I had hoped they were nesting and it turns out they were. These pics are from a couple weeks ago. The juvenile is flying now, calling out as he/she soars above my house. 🪶
