Both novels feature extremely frightening villains that, like Cardinal Lawrence, invite you to examine the relationship between faith and doubt.

I know some writers hate revising. But let me make a case for the feeling of polishing your prose like a diamond until 3am. Monastic or ecstatic? I have never found it easier to enter a flow state. It always starts with, “I’ll just give this another 15 minutes…” 💎
