I read 1984.
And Fahrenheit 451.
And A Brave New World. And The Handmaid‘s Tale.
And The Giver.
And The Road.
And The Lottery.
And The Parable of the Sower.
And The Hunger Games.

I know what I’m seeing.

Project 2025 = Jim Crow 2.0
Clyburn: "People better get serious about this. When he says he's not joking about throwing away the Constitution, which is what he'd have to do to have a third term, and we are not gonna rise up in opposition to that? I think it's time for us all to wake up."

Trans rights are human rights. Full stop.

On #TransDayofVisibility, we want every transgender and nonbinary person to know that we will always fight for your freedom to live your life and be yourself. You belong.

Be strong, be mindful, act!
America is in trouble, and we must meet this moment with courage. The time of wishful thinking is over. Now we act.

Even though the world is falling apart, the ROBOTICS kids and volunteers bring me joy. Three hectic days of high-pressure fun and excitement.

Well this was a fun trip down memory lane. From their first production of The Music Man to today's performance of Beauty and the Beast, the Menands Union Free School District Drama Club is still going strong! It's a real blessing to see something you helped build continue on.

I hate that they're erasing history.
This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position.

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

Surprisingly, good news out of Montana. Rep Zooey Zephyr keeps doing the hard work. www.lgbtqnation.com/2025/03/thes...
These lawmakers' speeches were so powerful that 29 Republicans abandoned their anti-trans bill - LGBTQ Nation
Victories like this are what happens when we elect trans and nonbinary people into government.

When Amazon launched in 1995, there were 5,500 indie bookshops in the U.S., with 7,000 locations. By May of 2023, that number had decreased to 2,185 indies & 2,599 locations.

When you purchase audiobooks via Libro.fm vs. Audible, you directly support indie bookshops. Let's make that number grow ❤️

Appreciate all the library ❤️ I'm seeing here. Just want folks to know Hoopla is breaking my e-content budget this year. bookriot.com/library-hoop...
Your Library's Hoopla Digital Collections Are Breaking Their Budget
If you've noticed changes to the digital materials you can borrow from your library, that's because that access is costing libraries way more than ever before.

Well, one of four is already done, and the rest seems quite doable.
5 ways to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth (cause the fed govt doesn’t run your house)

1. Find out what Sojourner Truth REALLY said
2. Buy a Black horror, scifi or fantasy book
3. Listen to “Naima” by John Coltrane
4. Send the victims of the LA fires in Altadena a few coins
5. Get a library card
