I just give them a card as they're walking through the door. Though there is a scope for them testing each other 5 mins a lesson and swapping cards haven't tried it yet but will do.

I think no specs can apply the large data set properly. I love the idea of a large data set, I love the idea of applying statistics to it but including it as part of the A Level Maths as examined content is a struggle.... it ought to be a separate qualification in my opinion.

I enjoyed this too much. I'd add a film of a student writing a^2 + b^2 =c^2 and the next line a + b = c and being hit by train also.... or equally a trout
