I wonder about both those things for sure. Trying the podcast option out for the first time this semester for final projects—students seem quite interested. There are apps that do the transcription, so that could help with grading/feedback.

Why do you refer to digital projects and podcasts as requiring a great deal of instructional time? The work would be done outside of class. They increasingly seem like good alternatives to papers to me.

Or 3? (It looks like Russell Berman’s term expired.) It’s gut-wrenching to see our government’s abandonment and destruction of the humanities, and of humanity, at the same time. They are connected.
