In some of the world's worst timing, my graphic novel came out today. 3.5 years of hard work to bring one of my scripts to life and it turned out beautifully. Please consider buying a copy for the kids in your life.

I've had countless producers interested in this script and then... *poof*, ghosted. Taking matters into our own hands and the graphic novel version is underway. Both a standalone story and a sequel to my first graphic novel REAL. Follow along here: tapas.io/episode/3731...

Always love a Phoenix read, although this one is definitely out of her wheelhouse!
Jumping into SAVE THE AMAZON (mockumentary feature): when a streamer cancels their favourite TV show, a group of super fans struggle to film it themselves. 😆

Just finished the next draft of this feature! Maybe this year won't be a wash after all.

I got some good news this morning, I'm having the best writing day I've had in months, I had a great afternoon with my daughter and this proof of concept is finally coming together in post. Some days things hit just right.

Bottoms was so hilarious. My daughter and I laughed and laughed, and as a gay teen herself, she said the dialogue was super accurate. Huge inspiration for the high school comedy I'm working on right now.

Kid came home from school still sick so we're going to watch Bottoms and eat Walmart brand frozen egg rolls made in the air fryer. Can't think of a better afternoon.

This short/music video got zero engagement when we posted it in June. I tried reposting on the hell site today and same thing. I wonder if it's because the original caption is about toys snorting cocaine 😂, or if it's just that nobody cares. #scriptsky #filmsky
My daughter's on an overnight camping trip with her class and we caught her stuffed animals having a wild night while she's gone. Lady Ladybug is the star of our graphic novel Real (but she's not snorting cocaine in the book... it's for children).

I spent the morning sick and crying in bed because this year has been relentless (and I don't mean writing stuff). But I made a plan for the next month until the Christmas holidays and my daughter made me a homemade pizza. I can do this.

These days I don't even keep track of most of the stuff I have out there that I'm waiting on, but I cannot stop refreshing my email this week hoping to hear about the Sundance lab.

I get to bust open a new pack of highlighters because this ensemble mockumentary requires me to keep track of 6 sets of characters and my old pack only has 5 colors. It's the little things...

Getting to that 'so close I can taste it' point with a script. I haven't felt that since January and I am so happy.

We've got 6.5 weeks left of 2025, shall we lock in or rest up for 2026? This year definitely didn't turn out the way I was hoping, but it had a few magical moments/wins. #scriptsky #filmsky

Throwback to when I busted out the sidewalk chalk while working as a scientist on a ship in Alaska (this is the cod/crab processor M/V Independence, you might recognize her from Deadliest Catch).

Apparently it's been stuck in development hell for 5+ years and they need to get off their asses because I need it NOW!!!!
My husband and I are reading the same book from the library right now. Thanks for suggesting it 3 years ago @rmoonhill.bsky.social I finally got around to it

PRESENT the graphic novel, sequel to REAL, is off to the races! Can't wait to share the journey (and the final product).
November 13, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Got another 'maybe' email today. I'm experienced enough to know that 'maybe' still means 99% 'no', but eventually the thousands of nos turned dozens of maybes will be that 'yes'.

I guess they'll never outgrow the tree lighting party.

Apparently Wednesday is new comic book day? Consider trying my graphic novel if you want a longer read.

1. OMG yes! This is the perfect Anne Rice adaptation for her, plus all star cast!!!
2. I'm almost done writing an Adele movie of my own if she falls in love with acting.
