Gotta be in good health too. In the five years we've been on our acre, I've had stage 3 cancer, long covid, and pots. My spouse has chronic pain from injuries. One of our big obstacles is if we miss a day or two of maintenance (watering, spraying, whatever), plants keel over. But we still try.

We tried both and the biggest challenge was mold and slime. It's extremely humid here. Good greenhouse setups are also out of our price range. But we'll give it another go next year.

Florida east of Orlando. We do get lots of loquats annually, and starting this winter, some avocados. Lost so many avocado saplings to wind of all things. When we improve the soil, the armadillos go crazy. They've ripped a lot of solid plants out by the root.

Oddly, what we've had more success with are figs, loquats (Japanese plums), and pineapples. After living here a year, I was wandering around in saw palm and scrub and stumbled upon a fully ripe pineapple. If we can pick them before the critters do, they are the best pineapples ever.

We have grapes and peaches and the birds and squirrels get every one. We tried netting, chili powder, shiny pinwheels... even fake snakes.

We might try that one. This was the Jelly Bean tomato. Tasty but straggly and didn't last long.

Yes but also caterpillars, armadillos, blue jays, turtles, squirrels, ground hogs, rabbits, bobcats, stray cats, massive grasshoppers, owls, peacocks, and sandhill cranes. Having beekeeping neighbors is great but the wildlife is insatiable! We surrender.

Is that (er, this) an actual product?
