Does your device change your regional slang into something completely different?

Tried to type #bampot & had it auto-corrected to "vampire".

Perhaps it's a #Scottish #RegionalSlang #WordOfTheDay somewhere 😂

Does anyone have a BSL sign for ' #Fakaleitī ' please ? Or...is/are there one(s) from #TonganSignLanguage that can be respectfully borrowed ?
"In Tonga, fakaleitī have long been part of community life. In Sāmoa, fa‘afafine were respected...Across the Pacific, gender diversity was recognised & named, not as deviance but as difference. Not as disorder but as divine variety. It was colonialism, not culture, that taught us to be ashamed."
“Political parties like New Zealand First and certain conservative voices have framed gender diversity as a threat to ‘traditional values’ and ‘common sense’ . . . These efforts aren’t just policy disagreements, they’re attacks on people’s lives.” — Rev Dr Nāsili Vaka‘uta.

Sometimes I worry clients think I've forgotten about them when I'm working on multiple projects, simultaneously - in order to meet all the different deadlines.

Does this feeling ever leave? Question for the #Freelancers

Thank you to those
Who took all they knew
Put them into lessons
And dilemma run-throughs

Thank you to those
With the battles silently fought
So that those after

It's #DeafAwarenessWeek!

At Kids in Museums, we believe museums are for everyone. But many families and young people who are D/deaf or hard of hearing can find visiting museums difficult.

Our resource is full of practical tips to welcome more D/deaf people:
How can your museum better welcome families and young people who are D/deaf or hard of hearing?

Re-reading 'Signs, Music' by #RaymondAntrobus on the last day of #NationalPoetryMonth I didn't understand the appeal of signed (poet's signature) books, until I did.

An experienced professional once said to me to stop asking for feedback/advice as they felt that it made me look incompetent when I'm highly skilled.

So I stopped.

Their suggestion came from a good place AND it didn't feel right (for me). #LifelongLearner

There's no such thing as a self-made man or woman. No one succeeds without support.

"I did it on my own" is a sign of insecurity and entitlement. Acknowledging help is a mark of confidence and humility.

Giving credit to others doesn't undermine you. It elevates them.
