They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy

A must read for academics. Faculty, it's always a good time to talk to your librarians to learn about options for open access scholarly communication #skybrarians katinamagazine.org/content/arti...

Dear perfume wearers,
It's spring in New Orleans, which means it's also allergy season. If you wear perfume, be kind to us seasonal allergy folks and don't. A brief scent of your chemical perfumes burns our noses and leaves us sneezing, congested, and generally ick feeling for the next hour.

Scenario and then a question for all my weather nerd friends. Yesterday The skies were gray, it was overcast, it was cold, and people were incredibly selfish drivers. Today the skies are an amazing blue, the sun is warm but not hot, the temperature is perfection, people were driving with kindness.

Seeing a lot of panic in the socials. 100% right to be worried but the amplification of fear and accidental misinformation makes it hard to find verifiable news. I don't have the solution, just observing...

Things I love: amazing film content coming out on major streaming platforms in indigenous languages. 😍 Things I hate: not being able to acquire amazing content in indigenous languages produced by major streaming platforms for my academic library. 😡
