Like learning a new language, learning how to collaborate in a self-managing team requires us to be a beginner. Many times we might want to revert back to our native language of hierarchy, where we feel capable and confident. Becoming fluent in new ways of working takes commitment and practice.

Someone told me recently they regularly refer back to this article I wrote last year in work meetings.

But where it had the most impact was actually in coaching their 18 y/o son's football team.
