How am I supposed to play Beat Saber if my cat’s gonna be an asshole and attack my feet?

Had a dream that I was at an udon shop in Meiji era Japan. An illness had spread through the area and once the chef realized his restaurant was full of plague had his apprentice prepare fugu for everyone so they could all taste it before they died. I was choking on my udon and watched everyone pass.

I think I’ve planned up a sufficiently devious D&D session for tomorrow, but @frozen-flame.bsky.social is a player now and can no longer be trusted with The Plans and my Ohioans are almost certainly all asleep or getting there in their stupid timezone.

Another year of no word on the books I’m waiting for release info on. Could 2026 be the year of Doors of Stone or Thorn of Emberlain? Signs point to no, but I sure would love an update anyway.

Many years ago my family went on a vacation to Germany and our flight back to the states was also shared by the Korean boy band BigBang. I don’t want to share the creepy pic I took in the preflight lounge, but my little brother sat next to Taeyang while we waited to board. G-Dragon luggage pic tho!

Plot twist no one saw coming: a problem customer I’ve known for years who would come in with his wife mid-pandemic without masks and wanted to fight me on policies, now seems to be separated from her and wearing pride paraphernalia? He seems happier, I’m glad for him.

I just realized that I spent all my money on Christmas gifts and left no budget for shipping. I told my best friend his stuff is gonna be late and he said “you Gift of the Magi’d yourself.” Not sure if I’m more burned or more proud of the literary reference.

I don’t think Larian understood that when they casually talk about their use of genAI it wasn’t spoken into a board room or a zoom call full of people thinking about numbers, it was to a host of fans who looked to them as an example of humanity and art persisting in spite of things like that.

There are a ton of things wrong with season 6 of Gilmore Girls, but episode 13 “Friday Night’s Alright for Fighting” is iconic. The newspaper revolt is a particular highlight, as is the reinstatement of Friday Night Dinner. Truly a shining beacon in a mediocre-to-bad season.

This is in fact the material point:
“The essay not only fails to meet basic college requirements — such as citing its primary source, the Bible — but fundamentally missed the assignment’s objective,” Tranquill said.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone except colonialist apologists and people who refer to turkeys as “gobblers.” Those people should have a bad day.

I took a break from my Battlestar rewatch, but I’m back and made it through the New Caprica occupation arc. I’m on S3E4, Collaborators, and I forgot how JUICY it is.

Post something random or you’ll have an awful November.

(I still think Bulbasaur would taste the best.)

Finally finished the second half of This is How You Lose the Time War, and I gotta say I loved it. I can see how it isn’t for everyone, but it made me laugh and cry and root for both protagonists.

When your kitty has testing done and the results all come back negative, the vet should give you a discount or like a coupon or something for the next one. Or a good behavior discount. The human hospital too, fwiw. If I didn’t cry during my bloodwork, 10% off at the pharmacy.

Reading “This is How You Lose the Time War” and I just came across a beautiful line. “Adventure works in any strand - it calls to those who care more for living than for their lives.”

Oftentimes I wish I felt that way.

One of the hardest lines from Battlestar Galactica is originally from Shakespeare, and every time I watch S2E17 I get chills. President Roslin makes a decision that disgusts her but she believes is necessary for survival.

“You have your pound of flesh. I suggest you take your victory and move on.”

I’m watching the Pegasus/Admiral Cain arc of Battlestar Galactica and RAMONA doesn’t even care about the plot enough to keep her eyes open. Is my cat a cylon? Signs point to probably.
