It's confirmed. First Board of Public Works hearings on #MeasureHLA appeals will be Monday 11/24 - 6 projects appealed by me. Per staff reports, recommendation is for BPW to reject 5 of 6 outright, & to admit that the city made an error on one, but still reject modest improvements that I asked for.

LADOT wrote "Upon investigation, staff concur that in July 2024, Los Angeles ... completed resurfacing... along Hollywood Boulevard. [...] The City concurs that the project is subject to [ #MeasureHLA law] and was erroneously filed as an exemption."

The city wrote that Hollywood project is exempt because "project involved large asphalt repair that did not go through the intersection and re-striping the street to create a protected bike lane." (Spoiler: that's wrong.)

It’s a tiny low temporary roundabout, but I am happy to see that it slows down most turning drivers. (New installation at 4th & New Hampshire in #Koreatown)

Is it that hard to acknowledge Streetsblog/me for taking photos you use, LADOT? Left is 2025 LADOT Ohio Ave presentation, right is 2022 SBLA coverage of city bikeways. SBLA photos are creative commons - not a problem for the city to use this, if they credit the creator.

CEO Wiggins speaks about Metro Transit ridership trends. Overall ridership still slightly depressed since federal ICE terror. Bucking trend, A Line ridership grew with new extension opening. C/K ridership still up since LAX station opening.

Please go check it out - it's actually protected. Northbound is curb/sidewalk-level bikeway. Southbound is concrete-curb protected.

Not a lot to report on the HLA front emerging from this morning’s Board of Public Works meeting. I learned that the oral report briefing section of the agenda lists dozens of topics that the board *might* talk about. Barely an agenda.
