I waited 5 whole hours at work today to talk to my colleagues about Wicked & I’m way more proud of myself than I should be for the restraint & professionalism I showed

Sometimes being an expat is uniquely tiring - if I use slang/spelling from my country of origin, it’s made fun of (usually gently, but still). If I use slang/spelling from my country of residence, it’s pointed out as cutesy (& those from my country of origin also make fun of it).

Had the absolute joy of introducing my very British coworkers to the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile & Miracle Whip today. America, I am not doing any favors for you in winning esteem with our British friends, but I do get points for honesty.

As a newcomer to these friendly blue skies, one of the best parts is how closely the UX design mimics old twitter. :’)
