I love living within sniffing distance of Senners, esp at Easter, but I had wall-to-wall dreams of hot cross buns thanks to the baking wafts coming through my bedroom window all night... I woke with the hunger of ten wolves!

Voila! My 10yo described it as "probably the most delicious thing I've ever tasted," so it's officially a hit. (I'll need to buy some more Canadian Maple syrup now! 🇨🇦)
A yellow baking dish with a golden Poor Man's Pudding, or Pouding Chomeur in Quebecois, apparently! A blue-green ceramic bowl holding a serving of Poor Man's Pudding swimming in a kind of maple caramel sauce, topped with rapidly melting ice cream. None of it lasted long! 😋

OMG - this looks insanely good! I will definitely use butter because we are in Guernsey - home of the dairy cow of the same name and the best butter in the world. 😋
A Guernsey cow (brown, white and fluffy) looks straight into the camera. In the background there is the field it is standing in and in the distance a round granite defensive tower, called a loophole tower, dating from the late 1700s, when the island needed to defend itself from potential invasion by Napoleon. (Guernsey is situated around 30 miles off the coast of France, and our cows make the world's most delicious milk. That's no exaggeration.)

I can't visit, but I'm buying Canadian whenever that's an option for something I need. And as a household of seven with a penchant for pancakes, we need lots of this! (Our local shop has it on special offer - I like to think in a show of solidarity. 🇨🇦🤝🇬🇬)

Well, so far Bluesky feels more... wholesome. Here's something in keeping, fresh out of the oven. Shout out to any Guernsey people on this platform (and anyone who likes cake). 👋 I'm going to enjoy the cute animal content before politics takes over.
Banana loaf - fresh out of the oven. I have to stop describing it now because a) you'll get too hungry and b) it smells insanely delicious and I can't resist it any longer... UPDATE - it tastes as good as it smells. FURTHER UPDATE - there is no longer a banana loaf. 😋
