I called it a clown show out of frustration but the point the flight I would have taken still hasn’t happened is kind of amazing

A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

truly this policy was one of the best things about working at The Verge, more outlets should refuse to allow unnamed spokespersons - for any entity- to comment “on the record”
Everyone underestimates how entertaining I find these interactions

Good bit for the weekend is we replaced the grandmother’s laptop. Goodbye 10 year old machine that BSODed and hello something current. Also did the basic updates, checking for updates again, and again, remove McAfee, and sign into the MSA where some of her files live. 🤓

Ah, yes, it's the social media, not the parents who buy radar detectors so they can speed at will, complain about drivers going slow, and bitching about every other human on the planet. I wonder where they get bad influences. 😑

And this morning it's yet another show of one dimensional thinking.

I haven’t had a bad Apple Maps experience for basic things but this map misalignment though part of Nevada is unique.

I’m guessing it’s the harshness of the second round of this administration but I really have less patience for conservative family this year. Did you hear about Portland? President Trump is amazing. What about this criminal? ☠️

I haven’t been in a cigarette smell area in a long time and boy is it unsettling.

These workers are harvesting celery. They use a curved blade to cut and trim the bunches. It is often packaged right in the field by another crew of workers.

Farm workers unearthed these potatoes with heavy machinery. They’ll now be cleaned and sorted by hand for size and quality before being bagged or sent to cold storage for future packaging and shipping.

This WA apple worker is taking a break at the end of a row of apples. This method, where the trees are trained along racks, is most often seen in newer varieties like honeycrisp and cosmic crisp apples. It increases sunlight to each branch and reduces how much ladder work is required.

Cauliflower is sliced from its thick stem and then excess leaves are trimmed off. The heads of cauliflower are often cleaned and packaged right in the fields on platforms that move along with the workers.

A farm worker shared this from where he's harvesting romaine lettuce. The crew has 26 workers. One group harvests the lettuce, the next group bags it and the last group puts it in the boxes.

There are two methods for cranberry harvest- wet method and dry method. Pictured is the ‘wet harvest’ method where the cranberry bog is flooded and the plants are shaken to dislodge the submerged berries, which float. (Fun fact: in a flooded bog the workers become high ground for the spiders.)

Also got a bit of outdated hardware in the wild as family is having issues with their laptop that “isn’t that old.” Turns out it’s a ten year old, 6th generation Intel machine we’re likely gonna replace. Hadn’t used Windows 10 in awhile but it does feel a bit old after being used to 11.
