Wonderful Wednesday to you too from Sam (a distant cousin perhaps?)!

Charlie, looking out the window, what do you see?
“I see a wonderful world as big as can be”.

Charlie, Charlie, you’re a mighty fine cat.
“Look at me, mama. Who would argue with that?!

Happy #Caturday from one of my sleepy little demons. They look like twins!

Those rascal cats! We not only gave up on decorations, but also the tree. Instead, we have Santa “park his sleigh” in the living room & leave our presents. The kids actually accepted that story & thought it was special bc no other grandparents had a sleigh!

Snowed In … Brrr 🥶
This was inspired by a Bob Ross painting & is done mostly with a palette knife. I love how craggy it makes the mountains even for a novice like me.

I painted this for my parents back in the 70’s (!) They had it professionally framed (noteworthy because they were young adults during Great Depression & ultra thrifty) & it enjoyed pride of place in their living room until they passed.

I don’t remember when/where the inspiration for this came. But I felt that the clouds turned out so fluffy & the sky.. I love pink!

I painted this tiny piece in ‘88 (yeah, over 3 decades ago!) from a photo of some of the beach along the Gulf of Mexico.

Winter Morning
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 3
This was my first painting NOT using a photo, just imagination.
Nothing like this in Texas where I’ve lived most of my life, but I would like to see this some morning. Somewhere.

#ArtAdventCalendar Perseverance. A Monterey Cypress endures the wind under a cloudy sky. I painted this from a photo, then was lucky to travel to California to see them irl. A painting can’t do them justice.

Youth is about achieving milestones; old age is about letting them go. First time I’ve ever had to be excused from jury duty - past the age of 75 & physically unable to serve. One more loss to mourn. 😢

Having cats is a lot like having toddlers around. Sam still doesn’t understand the concept of window glass, so he keeps bonking his head chasing squirrels, birds, & bugs. Charlie has no concept of mortality & believes no mountain (or door) is too high.
