#VA250 Passport Tour @ Bacon’s Castle, Surry, VA. Excellent 20 min tour exploring four floors of the building. Currently renovating windows. Still amazed the building exists. So many chimneys! Enamored with the large fireplaces.

I felt wronged reading more about the historical context of the museum location in connection with Gabriel

#VA250 Passport Tour cont…directly across the street is the actual passport location BUT saw a huge BOOK SALE sign and made a mandatory pit stop. Picked up a book for 50 cents @ The Pamunkey Regional Library-Hanover Branch location.

#VA250 Passport Tour, DAY 2! (11/22/25). Started tour with a meal @ Hanover Tavern, built in 1733 & one of the oldest taverns in the U.S. (Not in passport, don’t know why?) Picked up postcard post-meal in gift shop for $1.00!

The FREE Virginia 250 Passport is available at ANY Virginia Welcome Travel Center. There are 12 total in the State. One heads up: no one at any of the sites we visited knew of/brought up the 15% discount on admission offered in the passport. #VA250 #Virginia

Ended #VA250 Passport Tour in Fredericksburg, VA #fxbg full from lunch @ Osan Japanese Restaurant, Ice Cream @ Abner B’s, & dinner coffee @ the cozy, Original Grinds (@ogsfxbg). Have to come back to visit the other 4 stops in the city. Lovely day of walking, learning, & shopping.

The two AWESOME ladies in charge on 11/16 were welcoming, informative, and charming while sharing the life of Dr. Mercer & the apothecary. Leeches in every orifice as medical treatment?!
