in spite of all this.... I don't hate it. I was baffled upon first listen. I appreciate that (save for 1-2 tracks) it is not written for a general audience (at least not as much as midnights). it's cringey in a way that only she is 💕 and I think it will be a bit polarizing

there's one song about Travis vs. like 5 very blatantly about Matty and it's SO BAD like far and away worst on album. i thought they were cute and made sense together and now I actively believe they are a PR couple. because of this track.

so much of it is so explicitly about her public-personal life that I suspect it will have limited relistening value. and I can't tell if I think it's good or not. features a lot of her worst lyrical impulses but she commits hard enough to them that they loop back to being maybe good.

I could do without the intergenerational mental illness + enmeshment + lack of accountability so common among Irish Catholics but idk if it would be worth losing the gab + unflinching support

we all have issues with it bc its functionality is also shit and when we complained to our boss about it he was like "you're overthinking it!" but we just had to write self-reflections ENTIRELY based around how can improve our metrics related to it so it seems p fucking important to corporate!
