PM. Learning. Building. Shipping. Feeling dumb most times. Blank stares other times. Asking dumb questions all the time. Using this account to think out loud 💭
Product management is a highly collaborative role with a lot of transferable skills. Because of how collaborative it is, sometimes it is hard to recall the impact you’ve had on a project. The longer you work at a company, the smaller wins are easily overlooked. I’ve started doing the same 💯
Every month, I archive my work. That includes any videos of demos, any design & prototyping files, research documentation related to the work, and any decks I’ve presented. It’s important to maintain this archive because it enables you to tell your story. In this market, you just never know.

To make the complex simple is a complex process.
I’m sure that when the feature I work on is released, people will think there is no design there. Bc it’s so simple. But man does it take a lot of work to arrive at the invisible UX.

Hard to imagine how #AI would replace PMs in legacy industries like insurance, healthcare, banking, education. These are driven by domain expertise w/contextual nuances with scope for major overhaul & impact. Strong discovery & soft skills are required to translate requirements

Great read on getting low intent users to engage. I see great opportunity to use one question surveys in the health insurance industry where user journeys are long/ tedious and sometimes fragmented. No one wants to take a long survey after all that.

I work in #productmgmt for a #HealthInsurance company in Vancouver and the best part of doing product in legacy industries is access to subject matter experts imo. SMEs help validate a bunch of hypotheses early on due to their experience and close proximity to users.

#productmanagement is such a highly collaborative role that I struggle to identify what exactly has been my impact. What is the value that I bring to the table/conversation/product? I now take conscious notes on a side doc about everything that I move the needle on. Good & bad.

Why isn’t hardware #productmanagement half as popular as software? Why isn’t working at not-for-profits or startups as popular as #bigtech? Why isn’t creating POCs seen as more interesting than driving growth?

It took me 5 years to understand that #productmgmt is not a job. It’s a mindset. A mindset to get shit done, to be willing to look like a fool to dev, security folks, SMEs, to be delusional. With ANY job - as long as you’re entrepreneurial, you already are doing product.
