Sometimes, not always. Many type 2 diabetes will still need insulin even if they try their best. But the point here is that no one differentiates between 1 and 2 they just say "diabetes" and it perpetuates ignorance either accidentally or on purpose.

I'm a type 1 diabetic and it's crazy to me how many people tell me I can cure myself with exercise and diet. Of course they get their information from either shoddy science reporting or assholes like this.
