Ah! I had forgotten that. That's a better term to use with my middle and high school students. I have a tendency to go full grammar geek on them. Poor kids.

This idea was prompted by my realization that I use words like good and wow on my students' 1st drafts but call my own shitty. I'm proud of my students for getting the words out of their heads and into a readable form. Once that is done, we can work on refining and polishing the work together.

A banjolele is a hybrid of a ukulele and a banjo. A melodica is a keyboard powered by your breath. It's a cross between a piano and a wind instrument, plus it has a "spit valve." Gotta get the moisture out somehow. Check out Jon Batiste playing melodica on YouTube.
