That's partly why I responded - I think it's nice to have social media as a 2-way street and I know you're not an automated "word of the day" but an actual person thinking of ideas for us. And what a classic that the good old potato brings up cultural differences!

I've never heard jacket to mean anything other than a baked potato and disagree with the dictionary here. I'll ask my American colleagues later ;-)

Pellkartoffel is a good word, but I wouldn't translate it as jacket potato as a jacket is always baked, not boiled, right?
