finally-satellites can monitor & map global carbon dioxide emissions - here massive amounts detected at one of the world's largest LNG plants on an island off northwestern Australia, also home to a 50,000 year old archaeological site, one of oldest on this continent
Carbon Mapper now has some visuals of carbon dioxide plumes online, including this 450 tonne per hour one right over Gorgon LNG terminal.

This one was seen during a time when the CCS was operational and ironically you can see some CCS injection sites in this pic.

The plume is about 7 km long.

Alberta is changing how licensed daycare is paid for. They are removing the subsidy based on family income and going to a flat rate system. If you make $20,000 a year or $2,000,000 a year, it'll be $326.25 per month for full time care, per child.

Me looking at all of the terrible news… I hope things start to turn around. I miss the time we had when it was unacceptable to spew unfounded hatred towards minorities. Remember when there was a black president and a Canadian premier boasting about reconciliation with Indigenous people?

God I cannot believe this woman. How is she able to get away with everything she has done?
So Danielle Smith has decided to impose some tariffs on her fellow Canadians, just to show her hero to South that he's still her guiding light by beating him to the punch with punishment for Canadian industry. Unbelievable.
Alberta imposes a new tax on interprovincial trade. The UCP has levied an "administration fee" on every bottle of wine ordered from B.C. by Alberta residents, with new legislation that mandates $2.93 per bottle be paid to the AGLC. #yyc #yeg #yql #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli

A great resource for Albertans to understand the policy/ legal framework that’s prevailed over metallurgical coal mining in our Rocky Mountains since 1976.

There will be a lot of straight-up lies coming from the UCP on behalf of Australian billionaires.

Best to be armed with facts.
ABlawg has been covering developments in coal law and policy in Alberta since Minister Savage rescinded the 1976 Lougheed coal policy in 2020. With all the attention that coal is getting this month we decided to put out this compilation of our coal posts from the last 4 years. #ableh #abpoli
