My daughter wanted a sweater. Not bad for someone who only learned to knit last Christmas, hey? I'm pretty proud of myself! AND I spun the yarn 🧶 I'm using!
A children's sweater (unfinished) in light purple, pink, yellow, green, and blue stripes. The left sleeve is long but still unfinished while the right sleeve is only about a quarter done.

Check out my makeshift #LazyKate! It's working perfectly to hold the two strands I'm plying together into a skein 🧶 I'm #spinning for my other mother. I managed to get over 1000yds out of the coloured #fibers, so I'm hoping it's enough for her to MAKE something with! #knitting #crochet #FiberArt
Two spools of single-ply hand-spun yarn are wound thickly onto two long wooden dowels. The spool on the left is variegated purples, blues, and a deep wine red. The spool on the right is black. The ends of each spool sit neatly in the hand-holes of a small wooden crate...a sort of make-shift lazy kate if you will. Lying across the upper left corner of the crate is a handmade wooden drop spindle with the beginnings of two-ply stripey yarn.

Also. In addition to Pink Floyd currently playing in my headphones, I'm also relaxing on the porch and hopefully finishing knitting the rainbow scarf my dd wanted using the first ball of yarn I spun!
Knitted fabric in soft rainbow stripes laying across my legs. The stitches are uneven because this was the first ball of yarn I've ever spun, so it has lots of lumpy character bits. I plied it with grey wool, too, so that adds more visual texture.

I've been sleeping in the guest bedroom lately (wife is a bit sick).

This morning, Scout was in our room playing Minecraft.

She got ahold of my wife's phone and texted me this. It's the first time she's ever texted (she's 7).

It's amazing how fast she's growing up.

Look at this gorgeous mug I bought at a farmer's market this morning! Hubby took it home and filled it with coffee and brought it back so I'd stay and watch our daughter play with her friends at the market instead of him watching her. Isn't he sweet?🤣
