"Some say it’s time for spendin’.
Some say it’s time to save.
Some say the world is endin’
and all you can do is pray.

Some sittin’ back, wanna take it easy.
Some standin’ in line, lookin’ for a job.
Good times, hard times,
bread lines and headlines.
Gotta meet a deadline,
workin’ like a dog.

Watching without twitching a finger as my visiting sister rushes, horrified, for wet paper towels to wipe up the throw-up my dog just produced, knowing the pup will have re-eaten every slobbery drop and licked floor clean before she can get there. My sister does not have dogs.

Last night, I couldn't sleep so amused myself by asking questions about the worldbuilding on new show #Plur1bus. 20 min later, I pulled out my laptop and started typing them in. 2 hours later, I stopped at no. 863, not because I'd run out, but was too tired to continue. Ep 3 just added MORE.

AAAAH!

I put "Afterburn 2025 English subs" in Google and the stupid AI came back with "There is no known movie or show called "Afterburn" released in 2025." So . . . I guess the 2-hour movie I'm staring at right now doesn't . . . exist?

KILL ALL AI!

I have just finished ingesting a Dagwood sammie and am thoroughly gruntled.

On THE AMAZING RACE AU, the challenge is to memorize and play back a Javanese tune:

"[This other contestant] is really good musically and memorically." Off his partner's confused frown: "It's a word, trust me."

Chyron on screen:
Memorically (adj) -- not a REAL word

I love Aussies!

Watching THE CELEBRITY TRAITORS and the following filk came to me (to the tune of "Girl Scouts Together"):

Traitors and Faithful, money and greed;
working together when there is a need.
Back-stabbing evil at the table round.
Faithful, will all of the Traitors be found?

Heard an oldie today, "Always Something There to Remind Me," and was singing along when my wife suddenly looked at me oddly, saying, "Why are you singing that? There are no words in that part of the song. It's just music." I stopped, surprised. I had always sung it that way; those words SHOULD be

While watching an ep of IS IT CAKE?, I'm reminded of a present from my friend for my 14th birthday. It was a large, funny wax cow candle; I looked for a wick, but couldn't find one. Since I had no intention of burning it, it went up on my bookshelf and stayed there for years. Fast forward to

Watching Japanese dramas that have been translated by someone who may technically speak English, but sucks at using pronouns correctly, causes a lot of confusion! The J-drama had a convo between a man and 2 women. The women were referred to as 'he' and 'Mr.', but ALSO as 'she' and 'her.' AAAAAH!

WTF? Started as one word in an Eng skeet was in another lang, but now it's jumping into another lang halfway thru. Here's one that went from Eng to German: "...The head of the network's Sturmabteilung division was going to have me ermordet durch Tanzen mit den Sternen." Happening to anyone else?

I'm watching THE AMAZING RACE AU and every time one of the Aussies says the name of the city they are in, Samarkand, I hear 'summer camp.' It's really playing havoc with my expectations of what they're doing on the show!

Me: Siri, is it raining?

Siri: There's a possibility of rain next Wednesday.

Me: [looking out window at raging thunderstorm] Good thing I left the windows down on the car, then.

I'm mourning the fact that Anne Lockhart, while a stylish 72, is decades older than the picture I have in my mind of her mother, June Lockhart, forever frozen in her 40s during LOST IN SPACE. (Of course, I picture Anne in her 20s on BJ AND THE BEAR. Meanwhile, June rocked turning *100* this year.)

Google has become absolutely useless! I just spent more than an hour putting in words and phrases from a poem I couldn't remember the title or author of. It kept telling me I wanted Poem A when I actually wanted Poem B that had been written in RESPONSE to Poem A. Completely

Sigh.

Since you skeeted "Dog people are bad people" and then cowardly turned comments off, I unfollowed you and have only this to say:

As a Dog Person, with 2 lovely rescue pups, you can fuck ALL the way off!

Don't miss the post-credits scene on the latest STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS. It-is hilarious! Spock teaching Doug about humanity. (Although if Doug has been studying humans for a long time, he would have already learned quite a bit of it. Still, VERY amusing!)

Since you turned off comments on your skeet showing your cat Argon lying upside down and 'being weird':

Argon is just being inert.

Little is a Chihuahua/Mini-Doberman Pinscher mix. She weighs 10 lbs, has a tiny body and legs that average 2.2 feet long (I've measured!). She's the love of my life (along with her fellow rescue pup, Big). She's a serial licker and loves, without warning, to dart in to give my face a wet lick.

I'm watching an ep of ULTIMATE ESCAPE AU, when the narrator suddenly announces that the contestants "must run over rough terrain studded with hot geezers, doing their best to avoid them." And all I can see is lots of dressed-to-the-nines 80- and 90-year-old men and women waving and calling, "Over
