I absolutely read every word in Georgie's adorable voice in my head. So charming, so lovely and so true. If you're not following her on social media, you simply must. She has a way of making your heart warm, reminding you of the wonderfulness of this life.

I'm telling you, you gotta allow yourself to DNF books that aren't working for you. Since I've been DNFing like a queen, this is the kind of reading I've been doing. It was a stellar month. My favorite was by far Bury Our Bones. These books will stick with me.

Everywhere I go, gotta find the bookstore. This time was Bethany Beach Books where I picked up Ghost Fish by Stuart Pennebaker and Doll Parts by Penny Zang. Very excited to get into these. 💙📚

What a beautiful story of trauma, grief and motherhood. The witchiness of the characters is treated with intelligence and honesty. Alice's journey dealing with trauma and anxiety, coming into her own power, and having to apologize for her own perceived weakness, really struck a cord with me. 5⭐ 💙📚🩸

My reading wrapup for July. It was a pretty good month. By far the favorite was In Universes by Emet North. It was beautiful and moving and so unique. 💙📚

Wow, that was beautiful. I can't believe this is the author's debut. I will read anything they write! This may be the first book that I've ever wanted to immediately begin again after finishing. So unique, so heartfelt, so human. This goes on the god tier. 🥹

Another pretty fantastic reading month. I'm itching for another gothic horror. What's your favorite that I should read?

OMG destroyed. I am unwell. was the writing a masterpiece? nope. is my heart ripped open, flip-flopping on the floor like a lovesick fish? absolutely.

5⭐ Yellow Wife was agonizing, beautiful and so important. As a white person originally from Virginia, I am honored to be shown this story from a horrific time in our history. I can't recommend this enough. This goes on the god tier.

I had DNF'D this as a physical book because I couldn't gel with the conversational tone of the writing. As an audiobook, I'm really enjoying it. Has this happened to you? What's a book you recommend that's better as audio?

Now THAT'S a good reading month. I also DNF'd a couple and it's making such an impact on how much I'm enjoying reading.

Faves were definitely Buffalo Hunter Hunter and When The Wolf Comes Home. Two absolute masterpieces. I have so many good things planned to read in June. How was your month?

man, the afterward alone gets 5 ⭐

I will read anything this man @natcassidy.bsky.social ever writes, and now that I've completed the "trilogy" as he puts it in the afterward, I want to read it all again.

The way I gasped when this was put on the new books cart at work, and then snatched it before it went on the floor

I'm going in! Everything else by @natcassidy.bsky.social has been 5⭐ for me so pretty sure this one will be too! 💙📚🩸

Every time I put my bookmark in my place and close my book, I look at it from the top to see where I am and how far I've read. Am I the only one that does this? 💙📚 #amitheonlyone

"What I am is the Indian who can't die. I'm the worst dream America ever had."

This was an utterly beautiful, horrifyingly sad story, that moved me more and more as I read. I am really grateful for the lessons in grief and community pain. This will stick with me for a very long time.

I really love seeing people's monthly reading wrap-ups. I feel so proud of everyone, even if we read very different things, and no matter how many books they read. 💙📚

April #readingwrapup It was not the best month of reading. I loved The Unworthy and Blood on her Tongue. The rest were ok. But I have some great things coming in May! What was your favorite in April? 💙📚🩸

I just finished reading Session 9 by Christian Francis. It was ok, weird ending that I didn't really buy into. But the setting was fantastic and reminded me of when I visited Cresson Sanitorium before it closed. Thought I'd share some of my favorite photos. 💙📚🩸

Closeups of the autographs by @natcassidy.bsky.social

Love that it says "May all your bathtubs be ghost-free" and "Enjoy your time at the Deptford" 🤩

Happy Pub Day @natcassidy.bsky.social and thanks for being such a genuinely cool guy. It was such an honor to meet you! Totally worth the 2.5 hr drive from Lancaster! I read 3 chapters of WtWCH while I was waiting in line to get my books signed and I'm already anxious. 💙📚🩸

Mary, Charlie and I are ready to go see @natcassidy.bsky.social tomorrow evening in Doylestown PA! Mary is iconic for me and helped form me as a horror reader. Can't wait to read When the Wolf Comes Home. I am so stoked!

4.25 ⭐ While I didn't like this as much as Darling Dreadful Thing, I did have a really good time. The phenomenon of the bog body plays a big part in both of van Veen's novels, which is a new concept for me. Fascinating. The ending truly satisfies with its female rage. I really recommend!

March was an excellent reading month! A few of these books reset my perspective on rating books. I plan to actually sit down and write out a rubric on what ratings really mean for me. 💙📚 🩸📚
