Nature loving, tree hugging, frog kissing, dirt worshipping, modern bohemian - awakening in Maine. I dig: history & science; horror & punk; consideration & kindness.
Finally. I had hoped to complete this piece of bobbin lace in April, but it’s June. Better late than never. Now to this finish this project off with a frame and ship it out…

There were so many grackles at my feeding station that Ring notified me of a person detected in my back yard. It really was remarkable.

Yesterday, there was ONE red-winged blackbird in my back yard. Today, there are about FIFTY red-winged blackbirds AND grackles back there. It sounds like a goddamned aviary out there. An incredibly raucous and discordant henhouse. JOY!

There’s a red-winged blackbird at my feeding station - the first one to show up here this year! There will be more. And grackles, too. Soon!

The best friend I’ve ever had was a big, peculiar, orange cat - quirky as fuck. He was right by my side for 18 years - mad attentive, wicked affectionate, crazy supportive with me. During the last weeks of his life, he taught me how to live in the moment. Exceptional lesson. Superlative companion.

Better late in life than never at all.

I just learned that there was once a television program called Prison Break. I also learned it was real good up until there was a prison break.

She's wearing a DOZEN layers of winter gear. It's going to take you FOREVER to undress her with your eyes. I got places to be. Step on the gas, creepo.

Thank you, Governor Mills - for standing up against President Trump’s administration, dictatorship, and fascism. I am so proud to be a Mainer.

“This movie… is… ponderous.”

Oh, honey, this movie is so way, way, way fucking far past ponderous.

So, when was the last time ya’ll watched The Room?

This is the second time in the past week that I’ve seen the world from a decapitated head’s point of view - in my living room, on my television screen.

Dogs definitely can look up, but cats certainly cannot look down.

There are 4 chickadees, 3 tufted titmouses, and 5 bluebirds at my feeding stations - out in 3 feet of pristine, drifted snow right now. 16-year-old me could never have imagined (not ever in a million years) the simple joys 53-year-old me now experiences.

I like it here. I can actually choose whose posts I see. I can see their posts in order. But damn, I sure would like to have the choice of private posts. Also, it would be nice to have more reactions - not only a “like” but a “love,” and a “shit, sorry about that” or “hang in there, kitten” option.
