This relates to the AI shooter video everyone was dunking on. The aesthetic of this moment in time is oversaturated, over polished, plastic, dull, and uniform. It's getting easier and easier to recognise how many things exist to be agreeable for maximum ROI. It's turned from inoffensive to repulsive

It's less "look how far we've come" and more "look what we lost."

15~ people made a game with a singular vibe and control innovations that changed the industry and now a production anywhere between 10x-20x the size exists solely to reanimate its corpse as one of the last few commercial safe bets.
