Watched Simona Kossak @ the cinema last night.

Just watched Small Things Like These, which DEVASTATED me with its quiet portrait of goodness..

Cillian Murphy is ASTONISHING as the very EMBODIMENT of decency.

An Oscar-worthy performance. Unhistrionic, subtle, INCREDIBLY endearing & POWERFUL.

One of my ABSOLUTE fave fillums of the year.

Mataji made some tikhi puri for us yesterday.

So I've rustled up a quick bateta-kaanda-matar to go with 'em for dinner.

Made it blind (ie without tasting at all), so by the time we come to eat it, we could be in for an unpleasant surprise!

(Seems ok to me, though.)

I was SO nervous buying This Is Yesterday by my (ex-X, current BS) pal @regretteruane.bsky.social.

What if it wasn't for me? What if I HATED it..?? What if was just OK?

Oh me of little faith! I LITERALLY loved it from the 1st page. I'm now on page 5. &I'm LUXURIATING in FABULOUS writing like this:

Watched We Live In Time last night.

Yes, it's largely unsurprising. Yes, there's something very quotidian about it all. No, there's not much point to the flitting-back-and-forth time structure.

Yes, I was triggered & cried through most of it. (1st time since Room.)

Both Garfield&Pugh = FABULOUS.

Saw THRILLING Papal procedural Conclave.

LOVED it!

Not sure in terms of verisimilitude. But the Court intrigue=slickly&compellingly portrayed. Ralph Fiennes hasn't been as good since Schindler's List. &a FAB ending that REALLY made me chuckle!

SO quiet throughout. My nachos-scoffing reverberated!
