“Dear Santa” is truly one of the worst, most mean spirited movies I think I’ve ever sat through. Everyone is so mean to the main child actor, the characters beyond unlikable, horribly unfunny and nothing resembling Christmas or family fun. Disheartening to see how far Jack Black has fallen, 1/5

“Carry-On” is the fun holiday “Die Hard” rip off I needed this season. A great premise and setting, surprising tension, great action and just FUN! The dialogue is… not the best and it’s a hair too long, but it’s exciting, entertaining and an enjoyable time on the couch. 4/5

Book #66 of the year, “Erasure” by Percival Everett.
I really enjoyed this book, although I feel like I had to sit on it and really take it in to fully understand it. A very personal, angry, yet also humorous book about identity, representation and acceptance. 4/5

Book 65 of the year, “The Institute” by Stephen King. Genuinely liked this more than a lot of Kings more recent books, a little long like a lot of them, but solid story and characters. Kids with powers rule. 4/5
